Meet Marianne and Amanda of Lorne Grocer
We’re Marianne and Amanda, owners of Lorne Grocer and Birregurra Grocer. With deep roots in Victoria’s south-west, our lives and careers have always revolved around food, land and the communities we’re part of.
Between us, our experience spans artisan baking, professional kitchens, large-scale events, hospitality management and regenerative farming. Marianne also cares for her family’s fourth-generation farm just inland from Lorne, while Amanda lives and works on a property in the Otways hinterland.
We opened Birregurra Grocer in late 2024 - a café and larder shaped by seasonal ingredients, thoughtful detail and a genuine connection to its community.
Lorne Grocer is its seaside sister - carrying the same values to the Great Ocean Road.
Our menu follows the seasons and draws on well-loved recipes, with fresh cooking on site and daily baking brought down from our Birregurra kitchen.
Lorne Grocer is a licensed cafe to drop in after a swim, catch up with a friend over brunch or grab something nourishing to take with you. It’s relaxed, welcoming and all about the simple pleasure of eating well.
